Optimizing the management and sustainable
use of forest genetic resources in Europe

Stakeholders

GenTree will facilitate the active involvement of national and local stakeholder groups at crucial steps in the project. The Stakeholders Group is composed of key international and European forest experts and end-users in the fields of forest genetics, management and policy. It will play a major role in GenTree in particular by advising on / influencing research activities (e.g. expertise in selection of appropriate management scenarios, expertise in relevant policies influencing FGR) and the dissemination activities.

Some prominent experts have already agreed to become members of the Stakeholders’ Group, which will enlarged throughout the project’s life, particularly targeting relevant national organisations and forest industry stakeholders, which include: the National representatives of the FOREST EUROPE process (policymakers), the Confederation of European Forest Owners (CEPF), the European State Forest Association, the European Landowners' Organization, the European Confederation of wood working Industries, the Confederation of European Paper Industries, the European Network of Forestry Entrepreneurs and EUSTAFOR (the European State Forest Association).
